May 2019
Staff engagement is key for Mactus whenever it undertakes corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This has seen the company creating a regular calendar of activities centring on underprivileged groups in Singapore.
Mactus’ recent CSR outing to the Willing Hearts Organisation on 25 May 2019 saw employees helping to prepare, cook and deliver the meals for the needy on Saturday morning.
Willing Hearts prepares over 5,000 daily meals to 40 locations. The organisation‘s operations primarily revolves around a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes the meals. Aside from distributing meals, Willing Heart provides dental care, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments, optical care, legal aid, tuition services and bereavement services. The beneficiaries of these meals include elderlies, the disabled, low income families, children from single parent families, poverty-stricken families, to migrant workers in Singapore.
Ms Manice Teo, a designer with Mactus, was excited about the day’s activities “Many of us have not visited a soup kitchen before and we were thrilled to be part of this practical outreach effort to touch lives in the communities we are a part of. I know now that every little bit counts and everyone can truly make a difference.”
